During appointments, Dr. Schneider carefully evaluates developing teeth, bite alignment, gums, and overall oral health while monitoring changes as children grow. Regular children's dental exams and cleanings remove plaque buildup, polish teeth, and allow small concerns to be identified before they become larger problems. Preventive treatments such as fluoride applications and dental sealants may be recommended based on a child's age and risk for cavities. Parents also receive helpful guidance about brushing, flossing, nutrition, thumb sucking, pacifier use, and other habits that may influence dental development. Consistent gentle dental care for children helps reduce dental anxiety while creating healthy routines that often continue into adulthood. These regular visits also allow children to become familiar with the dental office, making future appointments more comfortable and encouraging lifelong oral health.

Just when you think the concept of good patient care and customer service is a thing of the past you walk into Dr Schneider’s office and are reminded it does still exist. His office staff are welcoming, warm, and happy. They greet you like you are family coming for a visit. It’s a relaxed atmosphere without high pressure up selling of fancy new dental procedures that you are made to believe you can’t live without. Dr Schneider and his staff do not disappoint and I whole heartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a great dentist.

As a recent Retiree from the Aerospace and Higher Education industry and US Navy Viet Nam Veteran, I was first introduced to Dr. Alexander R. Schneider, DDS two years ago where he diagnosed and treated me for a crown on one of my teeth. He did an outstanding job at that time of providing quality care where "my smile" had returned without a painful experience. I made my appointment for my annual examination through the Office Manger and Receptionist, Yvette Amendola, who through the years has always greeted the patients with professional and courteous communication to all of us who needed dental care. I was very pleased to learn that after Dr. Robin Chapman Retired, Dr. Schneider took over her practice and my Dental Care. Dr. Schneider is assisted by his Dental Assistant, Camy, when he performed my examination. Both Dental Professionals were constantly thinking about my comfort throughout the examination! I would highly recommend those individuals whom are interested in painless dentistry from a known Dental Specialist who has a Quality Dental Practice to contact the "Best kept secret" in Upland, CA. You won't be disappointed.

What age should my child have a dental visit?

Most children benefit from visiting the dentist after their first tooth appears or around their first birthday. Early appointments help establish a dental home where growth and development can be monitored over time. They also allow parents to receive practical guidance about feeding habits, oral hygiene, and keeping young teeth healthy.

How are children's dental visits different from adult appointments?

Children's visits focus on growing teeth, developing jaws, and age-specific oral health needs. The pace of the appointment is adjusted to help young patients feel comfortable while learning about healthy habits. Education is an important part of every visit so children can develop positive attitudes about oral hygiene.

Why are baby teeth important if they eventually fall out?

Baby teeth help children chew comfortably, speak clearly, and maintain proper spacing for adult teeth. Healthy primary teeth also contribute to balanced jaw development as children grow. Keeping them healthy helps reduce future dental concerns and promotes normal development.

Can diet affect my child's oral health?

Foods and drinks high in sugar or frequent snacking can increase the risk of tooth decay. Choosing balanced meals, drinking water regularly, and limiting sugary beverages help protect developing teeth. A healthy diet works with daily brushing and flossing to maintain a healthier smile.

What can parents do to encourage good brushing habits?

Children often respond well to routines that are consistent and enjoyable. Brushing together, using a timer, or choosing a favorite toothbrush can help make daily oral hygiene more engaging. Positive reinforcement and regular practice usually encourage lasting habits.

Healthy baby teeth play an important role in speech development, proper chewing, and creating space for future adult teeth. Schneider Dental provides pediatric dental services with a personalized approach that helps families feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Schedule an appointment with Alexander Schneider, DMD, and discover compassionate pediatric dental care for growing smiles from a trusted children's dentist in Upland, CA.
