What Happens During Emergency Dental Care?
Digital x-rays or other imaging may be recommended to locate the source of pain and identify damage that cannot be seen during a visual exam alone. Once the cause has been identified, Dr. Schneider develops a treatment plan based on your specific needs. Treatment may include repairing a broken tooth, replacing a lost restoration, treating an infection, performing a root canal, or recommending an extraction, when necessary. The immediate goal is to provide tooth pain relief, restore comfort, and stabilize the affected area. Prompt urgent dental care also helps protect surrounding teeth and gums while reducing the risk of additional complications that could affect long-term oral health.

Schneider Dental Reviews
Dr. Schneider and his staff are the absolute best! The whole team is very friendly and extremely professional. I always receive the best care at his office, and I leave every appointment pleased with my experience. My entire family comes to Schneider Dental, and I have seen the doctor and his staff go above and beyond for their patients. I cannot recommend Dr. Schneider and his office enough!
Just when you think the concept of good patient care and customer service is a thing of the past you walk into Dr Schneider’s office and are reminded it does still exist. His office staff are welcoming, warm, and happy. They greet you like you are family coming for a visit. It’s a relaxed atmosphere without high pressure up selling of fancy new dental procedures that you are made to believe you can’t live without. Dr Schneider and his staff do not disappoint and I whole heartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a great dentist.
Amazing staff. Dr. Schneider and Cami are incredible. I was a little nervous when he started but I’m so happy and amazed with him!
As a recent Retiree from the Aerospace and Higher Education industry and US Navy Viet Nam Veteran, I was first introduced to Dr. Alexander R. Schneider, DDS two years ago where he diagnosed and treated me for a crown on one of my teeth. He did an outstanding job at that time of providing quality care where "my smile" had returned without a painful experience. I made my appointment for my annual examination through the Office Manger and Receptionist, Yvette Amendola, who through the years has always greeted the patients with professional and courteous communication to all of us who needed dental care. I was very pleased to learn that after Dr. Robin Chapman Retired, Dr. Schneider took over her practice and my Dental Care. Dr. Schneider is assisted by his Dental Assistant, Camy, when he performed my examination. Both Dental Professionals were constantly thinking about my comfort throughout the examination! I would highly recommend those individuals whom are interested in painless dentistry from a known Dental Specialist who has a Quality Dental Practice to contact the "Best kept secret" in Upland, CA. You won't be disappointed.
This was my first appointment with Dr. Schneider, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire team was welcoming, thorough, and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions About Emergency Dental Care
How can I manage a dental emergency before I reach the dentist?
Keep the affected area as clean as possible and avoid chewing on the injured side of your mouth. A cold compress may help reduce swelling, and over-the-counter pain relievers can provide temporary comfort when taken as directed. Contact the dental office as soon as possible so you can receive instructions based on your situation.
Can a knocked-out tooth be saved?
A knocked-out tooth has the greatest chance of being saved when it receives prompt treatment. Handle the tooth by the crown instead of the root, gently rinse away visible dirt, and place it in milk or a tooth preservation solution if available. Bringing the tooth with you to your appointment gives the dentist the opportunity to evaluate possible replacement.
What should I do if my crown or filling falls out?
A lost crown or filling leaves the affected tooth more vulnerable to sensitivity and additional damage. Avoid chewing hard foods on that side of your mouth until it has been repaired. Scheduling an appointment promptly allows Dr. Schneider to determine if the restoration can be replaced or if another treatment is needed.
How can I lower my risk of future dental emergencies?
Wearing a mouth guard during sports, avoiding chewing hard objects such as ice, and maintaining regular dental visits all help reduce the likelihood of unexpected dental injuries. Good brushing and flossing habits also lower the risk of decay that can weaken teeth over time. Small problems found during routine examinations are often easier to treat before they develop into emergencies.
Can children receive emergency dental treatment?
Children can experience many of the same dental emergencies as adults, including chipped teeth, sports injuries, and severe toothaches. Prompt evaluation allows the dentist to determine the extent of the injury and recommend the most appropriate treatment for developing teeth.
